Good looking leather sheath
Is there something between the bottom of the brass "popper"(?) and the handle of the knife?
If there isn't that that would be my constructive critism, it will prefent scratches on your knife.
Thank you! This was for an old Western, BO Colorado knife from I believe the 1935-1950 year make.I like the way the retention flap/strap is made. What knife goes into the sheath? John
nice sheath, you can put a light coating of epoxy, small keep it neet, or a small thin leather patch over epoxy..i think the epoxy will do.very nce work!!! i would buy one or several keep me i mind thank you walter
Looks great. Is that press button made out of actual brass? I have had a hard time finding those.
Thanks! haha I do have a little OCD so I did alooot of research before I started so I had a good idea what needs to be done and I’m at that point in making Knives, even thought it’s not that long, where I want to start making them the best that I can. So before I started this I made sure I had the right tools and materials because I didn’t want to sell something that I wasn’t happy with .Oh wow. That is way better than my first sheath. I did make it using a nail and a leatherman though lol. But still way nicer than anything I have made to this day. I always use the excuse, "I make knives not sheathes, it may not be pretty but it will be strong" haha
I still just use a drill press, thread from hobby lobby, needles from dollar tree, e6000, and the leather I use comes from the end cut value bags haha I am wanting to get into it more but I am more focused on making my knives better. So I switched to kydex which I find MUCH easier to do and takes 1/3 the time. (your kydex work looks awesome too btw!)Thanks! haha I do have a little OCD so I did alooot of research before I started so I had a good idea what needs to be done and I’m at that point in making Knives, even thought it’s not that long, where I want to start making them the best that I can. Haha yeah Kydex is a lot easier and a lot of people like the versatility of it for belt clips and carry options. One tooling I need to upgrade for Kydex is my eyelet setter, the one I use now sometimes marks up the Kydex around the eyelets which is annoying. For leather I lucked out and found that Tandy leather does the Elite membership free for military which makes a huge difference in price! They also have a couple other discounts for other organizations if I remember right.I still just use a drill press, thread from hobby lobby, needles from dollar tree, e6000, and the leather I use comes from the end cut value bags haha I am wanting to get into it more but I am more focused on making my knives better.
