My first leather sheath...

Nice job–looks like it'll do the trick just fine. Somewhere Chuddy Bear did a really good post on all the steps in making a sheath wirh photos and everything. I've been meaning to look it up as I'm thinking of trying to make one as well. The SW seems a perfect choice to start with. I've been thinking of a simple flat pouch to carry in the front pocket.

looks pretty good, I keep wanting to try making a sheath. Did you get the leather from Tandy?

Here it is. :D

I have changed my process a little over time, but this will give you a decent idea of how to get a Randall style together.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. I will do my best to answer.

Thanks, Chuddy. Couldn't ask for a better tutorial than that! It tempts the reader to take on the project, but also makes one realize what a bargain on a quality piece of work you offer.
I, for one, promise I'll never ask about getting half done projects salvaged! ; )

The Randall style is actually pretty easy. You should see how much goes into a Dangler with two separate smaller detachable piggy back sheaths. :D

Having the correct and properly sharpened tools makes a big difference. The quality of leather can also be a big factor. I learned the hard way that cheap leather is cheap for a reason. It is a great way to take your mind off of other things as you pretty much have to pay attention to what you are doing the whole time, or you wind up cut, stabbed or with a screwed up sheath.
