The mailman recently brought me my first Moore Maker knife--a beauty of a stockman with punch blade, 3-7/8 inches closed, buffalo horn scales, 1095 steel. Fit and finish superb. I plan to get another Moore Maker in their wonderful yellow smooth bone. After I placed my Internet order, Dave Moore phoned me from Matador, Texas, to ask what I intended to use the knife for (fishing trips, I explained) and we had a very friendly chat. If you are a fan of slipjoints, Moore Maker is well worth looking into.

I snagged one of these puppies in stag. It was only when I got it did I realize it was a commemorative. It's getting good use, regardless.

Boy, that stag looks so so nice. It must feel really good in the hand. I have no reservations about employing a commemorative as beautiful as this stag honey as a user. In fact, all of my knives get pocket time. I can, however, imagine the day when a knife of great sentimental value to me will be too precious to risk losing or damaging by carrying it.

I have 4 Moore Makers. I have 2 with the smooth yellow bone and I have the Drop Point Hunter with Buffalo horn. I also have a Delrin handle trapper with engraving. I have used them on the farm and for everything else. These are great knives and the customer service when ordering is fantastic.

I am pretty hot on them right now also,,,

i bought a mini trapper in yellow delrin and loved it so much and carried it so much that I was worried about ruining it or losing it...and this is a working knife..

i solved the problem by ordering another in different pattern and putting it away..

the mini trapper has been in my pocket since I got it..

I want one of those bone ones,,,nice!

Mooremaker,
Absolutely my favorite slipjoint maker.
I have a large Stockman with burnt orange bone handles.
The blades get a nice patina, and can be sharpened wickedly sharp.
Very good walk and talk, absolutely solid blades in the open position.
Love em.
Lenny

I would prefer a beter sheath for my drop point hunter, but I like to sheath for the 5103

Seems like I read in a thread sometime back that Mooremaker knives were made by either Queen or Camillus... Anyone know for sure who makes their knives?

yellow ( delrin) working knives, and buffalo horn by camillius, and the others (stag and bone etc.) by queen.

I've carried a folder of one sort or the other for over 50 years and I can tell you that Mooremaker is the way to go. All my other knives sit in the drawer gathering dust while I am never without a Mooremaker. Mooremaker is just what a knife should be.
