I came across this knife made by Christoph Deringer and really liked it, especially the guard and blade being integral. The blade is made of D2, which is one of my favoritesand it is razor sharp. The knife is really well made and the fit and finish is near perfect. I am suprised I never really hear anything about this maker. I did actually purchase another knife by a MS, but had to return it. Although, this knife will definately be a keeper.

Thanks, Steve

I have been fortunate to see and handle a number of examples of Christoph's work, as he is a regular attendee at the CKG show in Toronto - he does real nice stuff and has a particualr talent for the integrals. You've got yourself a nice one there.

I used to have a number of his pictures on file (until my home computer celebrated the new year by crashing and burning :grumpy: ) - but here are two pics from badegallery of a large Med. dirk:

Thats a really elegant piece you have got yourself there Steve. I have never really looked at Chrristophs work before, so that to both Roger and yourself for the images - that Dirk is sublime.

You have a really sweet little blade there, I like the lines. It looks like it would fit the hand nicely.

Also, Med. dirks are becoming one of my favorite styles, they areo graceful. And, that is one of the best I've seen. would love to see the sheath, if one exists.

Thanks for all the replies. I e-mailed Mr. Deringer and he told me he would be at the Bladeshow 2005, so I will most likely attend this year.
