Howdy folks,
Today I purchased my first new multi-tool in 20 years, a SOG powerlock.
I have the original LM PST, a gift from my Dad, used it for almost 20 years. I bet it has another 20 years of use left in it, but it's getting a bit loose and long in the tooth.
My question about the Powerlock: I've been reading about updated pliers and wirecutters, gear covers, hex bolt construction and piano-type tool locks. I believe I have the updated pliers, I know I have the gear covers and hex bolts, but this one has the older style single locking lever on both sides.
Just wondering if I got a kind of "transitional" model, kind of the way Colt, S&W and Ruger had transitional models which had a mix of old and new parts sometimes.
Either way, I think this MT is a winner. Almost went with the LM Wave, but I'm glad I got the SOG instead.
Thanks for any and all info,
Heekma
