Hello!! This is my first time posting, ever!
I was wondering what you guys think of my choice as a first nice knife.
I'm going to get a CRKT M21-14SF. I really do prefer a larger blade for edc, and have heard nothing but raving and fantastic reviews for the M21 style line of knives. I'll also be picking up a CS G.I. tanto, just so I can have a camping beater knife.
So, what do you guys think? Is it a good choice? Are there better options? Any and all input is appreciated!

IMO you should look at kershaw (dave AKA kershawguy is the best dealer around BTW) the junkyard dog is a great big knife (and made out of much better materals G10 and D2 steel) I try not to bash company's but IMO CRKT offers cheap materals at high prices, while kershaw on the other hand offers high end materals for cheap prices!

I personally stay away from CRKT because I find their materials to be of lesser quality.
Have to agree with 9blades here kershawguy can get you some amazing deals
If not kershaw then I'd go spyderco which has great offering in each price range

I agree about spyderco, the endura woud be ideal...

i own 2 21 and i think the smaller 16 interesting knives i just do not like them. i do not hate like the nasty 8 eyed brand. but... i do not use them. they are cool

go too a store and try a bunch

Another vote for Spyderco  I think CRKT knives are fun, I have several of the ones with IKBS and they're great to play with. When it comes to use though, I have a rule that if I have a CRKT in one pocket I better have a Benchmade in the other ;)

Congratulations on your first nice knife! And welcome to the forum!!
Stay on, and before you know it you will have a few more nice knives based on all the input... Once you start, there is no stopping ;)

i don't have a CRKT M21, however i have read about it, and it seems like a good starter...
in time i am sure you will appreciate the Spyderco, Benchmade and Kershaws!
Also, some of the Buck knives are a great value...

The Kershaw JunkYardDog v2.2 is my favorite knife under $100, and you can find "blems" for less from Kershaw Dave.
Over $100, just barely, and it's Spyderco Paramilitary 2, 3.3" blade of S30V, wonderful compression lock...about as good as you can get under $300.
I've had three JYD 2.2's and maybe 20 Paramilitary 2's.
