Picked up a no 9 opinel for $10 at the knife show today. The only one they had that wasnt part of a collection. Very impressed. 2 questions concerning it. I've only read that they can be carbon or stainless steel blades. Anyone know exactly what kind of blades they use? Also, what is the process for sharpening one of these? Just like any knife but at a more acute angle?

1090 and 12c27, if I remember right.

A thin angle is nice, but a properly applied mousepad convex is a thing of beauty. :)

It is fairly thin to begin with. Cardboard shakes in fear and splits itself at the sight of this knife. It is a beautiful knife due to its very simplistic but functional design. Isnt this what defines a knife?
