A 12" Pen knife in horn. My first! This is really a wonderful design, beautifully executed by Bura. If you've never tried one, you've really got to experience it for yourself. This is the biggest little khukuri that I have. Not a chopper of course, but it looks like it will be a fine kitchen/camp/yard knife. Bura gave it a thinner edge than a larger knife, as you won't be chopping down any trees with it. Needed just 30 seconds on the belt to be shaving sharp.

Thank you Yangdu, you're the best!:)

Great photos Steve! I don't have a Pen Knife yet but it looks like the perfect "It's the middle of Summer and everywhere I look in the yard and garden there is something that needs adjusting knife..."

Steve, what did you do to make the knife "shine" like that? Care to give any tips? I know there's been many discussions on the topic but nothing like seeing the results in real life.

Nice pictures, thank you for sharing

Didn't have to do much to the blade. They have a great polish normally. The horn was sanded with 600 grit sandpaper, then buffed on a muslin buffing wheel on the grinder. I use "Scratchless Pink" buffing compound, but red rouge would be fine.
Disclaimer: The buffing wheel is the most dangerous machine in the shop and can grab a knife and throw it at incredible speed, slicing off various appendages or imbedding it in soft tissue.

A coat of Renaissance wax over everthing and there you are.

I was waiting for Steve to mention his technique. Once a knife enters his house, it is transformed into a magnificent work of art. He makes ordinary beautiful, and beautiful outstanding.

Nice.

Nice work again ...so the secret is Renaissance Wax yeah ...plus lots of your well hone skills that others like me would never develop in a month of Sundays. :o

With all these knives your getting anyone would think it was your birthday or something?

Very nice Steve:)
I love the feel and usefulness of my 12" villager. Yours looks beautiful:thumbup:

Very pretty! I like the bigger ones, but there's no denying the good looks and lines of the 12" models. And Steve does a bang-up job fluffing and buffing. I have a FF he beautified that just shines!
