I was looking for a fun activity for my scouts and had never heard of pop can stoves before but decided to try some out using this website as my guide. They aren't perfect, and I'm still trying to get a picture where you can see the flame but they work! The side burner one took forever to finally get the jets going but the one with jets on the top didn't take too long. These are the "pressurized" stoves with the screw/spring to fill the container. Using HEET as my fuel source.

I'm gonna keep playing around with these, I really wanna get one that puts out some good flames!

I've made a few of the "one-can" pop can stoves. Nice and simple but I can't find the site I got the instructions from atm!

Fun to do :)

I've not tried one yet but have been meaning to. Not sure I can even buy the proper alcohol fuel here in CA.

There is so much you can use for fuel for these things - go to an outdoor sporting goods store and get some stove or sterno fuel, or go to a hardware store and get denatured alcohol or even a liquor store and get some everclear.... They'll burn a wide variety of fuels.

From my limited research it I thought Everclear is the optimal choice. No can do in CALI. :(

if you have a Lowe's near you they should carry denatured alcohol, which works very will with these types of stoves.

I was out this afternoon, enjoying the tranquility of the forest and a cup of tea, thanks to my pepsi-can stove  Those things are awesome, very light, and fit in my Maxped bottle holder on top of the Guyot (even with the fuel!)

What knife is that in the bottom pic?

The kind I like best are the "Supercat" stoves. They are far simpler; all that is required is one can (like cat food or deviled ham spread comes in) and something with which to make holes. A paper punch works well.
