Hi all,

Just received my first (proper) knife in the mail today, the Emerrson Horseman, been dashing to the mailbox all week and now it's here.
It's a lovely knife, still trying to get used to the thumb disk, but the wave feature is killer!
I originally bought it to use as an EDC but now i have it it my hands, it's really not practical for that. So now i've been browsing this site and getting a few ideas for an EDC, i'm down to the Kershaw Skyline or the Spiderco Centofante 3. I just can't decide. I will probably end up with both in the future as i feel an addiction coming on.
I'm definately picking up the Kershaw Spec Bump as soon as my local store gets them back in stock, unless anyone here knows a good reason not to.

So, thought i'd just say hi,
I'm off to repeatedly deploy my Horseman in front of the mirror for a while.

Welcome to Bladeforums! :)

Check out the Exchange forums here. You may be able to pick up something you like at a better price than retail.

Welcome to the site! Spend much time here and 1 knife turns in to 2 into 3 into 7...you get the picture.

+1 On looking around at the exchange forum you can find some (very) gently used knives for way less then retail.

Of the two you mentioned I’ve owned both. The spyderco is a classic but I might actually prefer the Skyline. Its an awesome little knife.

:D
Thanks, I think a trip to the knife store tomo, disguised as picking up the misses from work. I'm gonna go for the Skyline and order the Spec Bump, and maybe my Leatherman Steens will have arrived in the post.

Just in time for the long weekend! :jerkit::jerkit:

Get out while you can.

He is'nt kidding! :D:D:D

Welcome! Have fun and learn alot. Go ahead and sell the tv, and buy a knife with the money. You are with us now.......MOOOOHAHAHAHA (evil sinister laughter if any of you did not get it)

Hey, welcome to the crowd of people with scarred fingers and patched forearm hair ;)

Nice choice on the Emerson, soon you will have enough samples to know what suits you in a knife. (wait, is that really a good thing? ;))

Quite right on that one. I would say 85% of my knives have been bought secondhand at massive discount, either on some online forum or ebay. Quite a few real nice deals if you have patience, and seeing the different price points and features just from browsing will help you get a taste of what you like in a knife.

That symbol is the "jerk it" smilie, I don't recommend using it in certain places on BF. A lot of members don't like it so some sub forums are strict on it, but your new so I understand if you thought is was a chin scratcher or thinking smilie or something ;).

You've been bit - the antedote is VERY expensive and has to be administered on a regular basis for years:D

Welcome.

Welcome to the sickness. I don't think you'll get a good reason not to buy a spec bump here, maybe 50 why you need one though :D.

Welcome aboard. Be prepared to spend alot of time and money on your new addiction.
