After some technical difficulty the pictures are posted below...thanks for those who helped me solve this problem.
First I would like to apologize if I have posted in the wrong place.
I have been a big fan of knives and other edged weapons since before I can remember. Last year, I took this fascination to a new level. I decided that for my graduation gift to myself I would purchase a two knife set. I knew that I wanted to have two knives that would last me a lifetime. I am not sure, but i am guessing that some of you might also know the feeling I was looking to obtain when searching for my "perfect" purchase.
Somehow I happened across the website for Scott and Aki who run Caribooblades:thumbup: out of their home in bush of British Columbia. Ultimately I decided that I wanted Scott to make my knives. I was like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. It was during this experience experience that made me realize that as much as I find knives and other outdoor topics of great interest, those around me here at school could honestly care less. I realized that I needed to find somewhere to converse and share my opinions with those who also enjoy them rather than bore those around me with my thoughts. So in joining this site it is my hope that I have found my much needed basis for conversation and learning.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I just wanted to introduce myself and share with you the knives that Scott and Aki made for me. I do not have them in my possession yet, but they were shipped yesterday, and I am anxiously waiting their arrival.
The larger of the two is a Mountain Caribou knife. It has a 7'' L6 blade, differentially tempered with a high convex secondary bevel. The handle has moose antler scales with walnut, copper, and leather inserts. It has been equipped with a long lanyard with a reinforced sheath to wrap around. Also, Scott was kind enough to put a steel but on the end of the knife (I am told that it leaves a nice face like imprint when used).
The smaller knife is a Kootenai. It has a 4.5'' D2 steel blade. The handle has Walnut scales with moose antler and copper inserts. A small piece of antler in the lanyard was braided into the shorter lanyard. The sheath has a braided leather looped line sewn into its back to provide additional security.
Both the sheaths and the lanyards were hand crafted by Aki
Best wishes, and I hope you are all enjoying the new year.
Alan
