Here are photos of a Randall I recently purchased. The previous owner said it was around 25 years old. I believe this is an early pathfinder. Any info would be appreciated. Jon

I have no info, Jon. All I know is you did good for your first, I like it.

25 years old (1988) is about right for the earliest production run, although I believe the first were in a (very) similar sheath with the letters D P stamped near the reverse side toe. Still, an early variant. Cool knife; good score.

Welcome to the addiction... :D

I know a guy that wrote a reference book on Randall Knives, but he's sold out; you might want to check the interwebz for availability...

How could you live without that book!!!????? I'd kill myself if mine were lost.... "all secrets revealed"" They are on E bay for a grand..... or less.LOL

"all secrets revealed" Touché Bart, touché. I laughed! :D

Thats a great knife and the sheath is a real pouch style sheath,I never knew they offered one.The earlier ones had less belly and a "pointier" point it looks like.My first Randall was a Pathfinder also and it has been a boon companion for the last 15 years.Wanna trade sheaths?Just joshin' you, enjoy that bad boy.Edited to ad that I have seen 26's with L.L. Bean engraved on the ones sold through that former outdoor goods retailer, they are still extant but cater to a different crowd these days.
