A week or two ago I posted in the " general knife discussion" area asking about a small fixed blade to take some serious abuse at work. Ive always carried a sak and a folder with a pocket clip but was thinking of making the change to a fixed blade. Everyone very quickly suggested a " rat" Most said the izula which I do like and plan to get but was a little small for what I was after. Then I saw a pic of the rc-3 and fell in love. I got it 2 days ago and have been chopping at home and at work ever since. I love it so far and the guys I work with are ready to buy one after seeing mine in action. Not like you guys havent seen an Rc-3 before but here is mine. Im after an izula now. - Joel

Nice score - I can see why you want the RC-3 with them apples - they are wormy as heck :D

I actually had ebay credit from selling some stuff and just got it there. I paid $104 with free shipping. I didint shop around too much cause I had the ebay credit but after looking a little bit it was a pretty fair price I think- Joel
PS camera is my wifes old hand me down cannon power shot ( didital) about the size of a brick and a little out dated but does the job,LOL

There is so many knives around she wouldnt know a rat from a sak anymore, LOL. She is pretty much numb to knives anymore. She says " they are everywhere, what do ya need so many knives for"? - Joel

Ladies are universal in this it seems ....my wife asked me the exact same question on many times and like a fool, I kept on explaining why I "needed" the new knife ... and she never got it. Until one day, I took her hand, walked her to her cupboard and just looked at her shoes ...... she looked at me, looked at the shoes and looked at me again. I have never been asked why I need another knife and I have never asked why she needed another pair of shoes ....... but now she has scaled my Izula so I bought her a pink one to get mine back .... then she scaled my RC-3 so I had to buy her the orange/OD RC3 to get mine back ........ and she still buys shoes as well.

In case this comes over as whining ... I am not. She loves Land Rovers and drivers a Black LR Defender 90 ... I drive an old blue Defender 90 :D Only thing I would change about her ... I would have loved to have met her 20 years earlier.

Hey Joel,

Welcome to the club! You picked a great first RAT to own, and the RC-3/Izula combo is a very tough act to beat. I have them paired up on my PSK/BOB.

Of course the lust will set in and the addiction will take over, and next thing you'll know, you'll be arguing with yourself about which one to take, which one to use... the whole mess. So don't resist, take them both :)

Amazing story.... I need to show my wife her shoe closet!!!!!!!

Congrats Joel! RC-3 was my first too and it has served me well. I just recently got a pair of Izulas (OD for me and Tactical Pink for the wife) and love them too. You NEED to get an Izula to go along with your 3!:D

my first two are now only a few miles away from my house. Aparently they made the cross country while i was sleeping. :D

Welcome to the family! Just make sure you wipe it down after you cut fruit with it, it'll rust. I once cut an apple with my Izula and I forgot about it and the next day rust began to appear on the edge. Nothin' some hard use wouldn't fix :D
