First off I wanted to thank Eric for getting the blade out to me in such a quick fashion. I absolutely love the knife, it came shaving sharp and ready to play with. I am looking forward to getting my next Rat, hopefully a Ratmandu.

and one more of the Ranger alone....

Can't beat Eric's turnaround time. He helps take away all that " I can't wait to get my knife" anxiety. My M6 cuts very well for such a large/thick knife. Well balanced, too.

You'll love the RMD even more. It's the perfect hiking/camping knife. Wouldn't feel short with it in the back country either.

You mean like a gift wrapped by your uncle after having too many at the local honkey tonk. Honestly though...the newspaper adds something. My friend who is a new initiate to ratdum got his first and he though it was cool. He said "Dang, they make such a good no-nonsense product that they don't even bother to make it pretty. They're basically saying 'This is it go deforest a couple acres'." Pretty cool.:D

Ahh I disagree. The Howler is still king in that regard IMO.

Tough call for me between the RMD and HRLM.

I have to put them neck and neck in the "perfect hiking/camping knife" catagory.

They are both awesome knives!!!

.

Just arranged for my first purchase of a hrlm, and all ready I know which the second will be: The M6. It looks to be a well balanced blade, large, but no so much as to be cumbersome.
