I found out last night that a good knife store was about an hour away (http://newgraham.com/store/). So I went there today and purchased a RC-5 and a RC-6. Im new to RAT knives, but my first impression is WOW. These are quality knives. I'm not sure which one I like more. The RC-5 is an absolute tank of a knife, similar to my BK-2 but I like the feel of this knife better, the micarta is awesome. The RC-6 seems to have better balance and I really like the finger notch under the cutting surface of the blade so you can choke up on the blade for more control for fine work. I can't wait to get these knives out into the field to test their performance, although it will be a shame to scratch up the beautiful surface of the knives, lol. I'll see if I can get some pictures of these blades in action and maybe even a review.

Welcome! Don't worry about messing up the knives. A RAT isn't happy while it's clean. :) Looking forward to photos and write ups.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on both the new RATs and being an hour away from a great store. I'd get myself into serious trouble with Newgraham only an hour away!

Congrats on your purchase. There is just something about the feel of an RC-6 in your hands; makes you not want to put it down, LOL. That is the best I can describe it.

Welcome to the forum. I am pretty new here to.
Although in the past 6 weeks or so I have aquired
2 RC-6
1 RC-5
1 RC-4
1 RC-3 mil (this was my first) I should be receiving my RC-5 and 2nd RC-6 in the mail tomorrow as I just purchased them earlier this week.

All I am saying is these things are as addictive as M14 clones:eek::D:thumbup:

Thanks guys for the kinds words. Seeing how you guys feel about your RATs makes me confident that I made a good choice.

haha I know what you mean. I'm already planning on going back to the store in like a week to get a RC-4... and maybe a RC-3 as well.

Welcome to the forums and get out and dirty those 2 new rats up. Where ya from ?

I'm from Virginia. My family has a farm up in the northern part of the state, but I'm down in SW VA at Virginia Tech right now. I'll be camping and testing out these knives when I go home for my month-long xmas break.
