Hello all,
I ordered my first RAT last friday, and after waiting anxiously for the UPS man it arrived today. I went with the RC-5 SERE and so far am not disappointed. It is one of the sharper knives I've received straight from the box, and I was lucky enough to get one with the cordura sheath. I've stuffed a small flashlight, lighter and Swiss Army Knife with a saw on it in the sheath pouch, which should give me a decent survival kit. The knife handle is great, though nothing exciting, it's standard micarta. The blade coating is incredibly grippy, almost sticky, which is nice. The bow drill divot is a nice touch, and the glass breaker is a nice feature. Unlike some companies which claim to have a glass breaker, and only have an exposed tang, this has been ground to an actual punch-like point. The knife diced chicken quite well, and I'm looked forward to beating on it in the wilderness soon. Also, now I want a blaze orange RC-4, the addiction has begun.
