I know, the name has changed to ESEE but the knife is old enough to be a RAT Cutlery anyway. Still it is my first, and it is a used but not abused Izula. The coating on the blade has been removed, and the etchings are faint. There is some grey/black faint coloration (not patina--looks more like parkerizing almost) on the tang. The edge appears convexed but dull (which I was told before I bought it), but otherwise in good shape--no gouges. chips or breaks. I got the factory sheath, which is very positive in locking--almost too positive! I need to get a tek lok for it, or rig up some other clip to slide it onto the visor in the car.
The knife seems smaller than I imagined--not the blade length, but the handle. I have small hands but this seems small in my hands. Maybe it is the skeletonized form of it. I will think about getting a set of the micarta scales as I think that would improve the feel in the hand.
It looks like a nice useful knife for me. I think it will do anything I need it to do. I'm looking forward to a change to put it through its paces!
