Well I’ve been playing around with some junk metals but finally decided to use the steel bar that came with my atlas mini forge. I’m not sure what it was but I got it to harden.

It’s rough and imperfect but I love it. The feeling of creating something useable with my hands is incredibly satisfying. I appreciate you guys answering my questions so far!

Thanks! I had no idea how to design the blade. I just knew I wanted a heavy tough short one for cutting up boxes (have to do it constantly). Definitely addicted I foresee a lot of friends and family getting knives as gifts

unforeseen hazard... quenched it in fresh peanut oil and it smelled delicious (I’m on a diet)

I use canola oil, so mine smells like I’m making French fries. :D
