It's for my sister and my unborn niece or nephew.
My sister is four months pregnant. She is 29 and this is her first baby. She has always wanted children, but always wanted to wait until she was married and settled in a good job with a good home. She and her husband of just over a year just finished building their house last summer and are all settled in and they are so thrilled to finally start a family.
A few days ago, my sister woke up bleeding a lot. She panicked, thinking it was a miscarriage. She called her doctor and he told her to come in right away. It turned out she had a fibrous tumor on her uterous, which caused her to go into false delivery or something (I'm not sure exactly.) My mom had a the same thing when I was a kid, and hers was precancerous and she had to have a hysterectomy. She didn't care so much about the hysterectomy because she didn't want more children anyway; she just wanted the tumor gone. My mom is fine now, and my sister will probably be fine, and the baby will probably be fine, but there is always that Little Chance that something could go wrong.
It about killed me to hear my sister break down on the phone right after telling me that there would likely be no problem. She was acting optimistic and then she was so angry about something else and then she just broke the f*** down. She said she had three pictures of the baby inside her and she had heard its heart beat. She said she was already so attached and she wanted it so badly and she was so scared and I couldn't imagine what she was feeling and I probably can't, but I love my sister and I want this baby to be born and be healthy. I want it so badly.
Well, I went off saying more than I intended, but I'm just going to leave it. If any of you can just please ask whatever Higher Power you believe in to send some healing vibes to my sister, I would appreciate it. It sounds hokey, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
