I just finished my first ever attempt at cable damascus. This knife started out as a piece of 1 1/8" cable and is now a hair over 1/8" think, 9" over all with a 3 5/8" cutting edge. The handle is dyed maple burl with black G10 liners and stainless pins and tube. Let me know what you think, comments are welcome.

I like it! Make one with a blade about 3x longer, and it would rule in the kitchen!

ETA: I absolutely LOVE the handle material!

Hell of a job!! Cable can be quite time consuming and frustrating but when you finally get it all welded its a damn gorgeous material!! Kudos to you!!! Now give.it to your kid!!! Definitely heirloom quality!!

Maybe when he gets a little older. Right now all he cares about is computers.

Hopefully that will change! So you get to break it in for him!! I'm sure you have some blood in it, it won't really be his till it has his blood in/on it! Just a knick, I hope but that's how.I found my favorites. They all bit.me!!!

Again, BEA-UTIFUL!!! Thanx for sharing your work!!
