Not mint by any means. Not much snap left in the blades but the blades are near full and it is a curved stamp two blade :)
Picked it up at a swap meet today for fifty bucks. Maybe a little high for the condition but I am pleased either way.

Nice find! Hopefully oil will improve the snap. Please show us the blades and stamps!!

My phone camera won't zoom good enough to get the worn tang stamp but it is this one

Here is a pic with the blades open. I still have some cleaning to do.

Oil didn't help the snap much but the blades cleaned up a bit. Im guessing there is no way to improve the snap on an old knife? I assume years of not being oiled is the problem :(

From what I can find online it is a 1933-1941 mfg knife.

What a classic. That's a piece of history there... Those years were some of the toughest of the 20th Century, from the depth of the Depression and leading us right into WWII.

Very nice example of a true classic Barlow :)

Does the pen blade stay or try to stay at half stop when opened or closed?
The Pen blade has little in the way of half stop either but it does seem to lock in open position better than the main. My untrained eyes see what appears to be the backspring on the main blade not moving as freely as it should. I was hoping it was gummed up with grit or debris . I sprayed it with WD40 then oiled but it had little effect.

Okay....The tang on your main was stamped square at the factory as was the pen. The tang on the blade is now rounded off due to wear. Oil was the prevention and not the cure and at this stage you can do one of two things IF you want to keep it
1) Carry it , use it, or hold on to it for it's pedigree as Russell Barlows are rare.

2) Send it out for an overhaul. The tangs and springs need to be hammered and profiled, if there is enough material there and the pivot pin needs replacing.

I would opt for #1.
