That's a beauty, Eric. Is that from Jerdan or the guy with the Herman WIlliams collection?

Very nice. Would you happen to know which model OT? Personally I wouldn't classify it as a trapper. Barstow maybe? Just trying to become more familiar with different patterns/styles. Still very nice which is the important thing.

That is classified as a 2-blade jack knife. Can't read the tang, but I assume that is a SCC stamp. My guess for pattern number might be a C2154EO or C2156EO, depending on handle material.

Mike, anyone, I can't find a reference to what the "C" prefix means in the catalog. It's not crocus finish, cause other crocus finish knives don't have the "C"... any input?

Glenn

I would agree with you, except that when you look at other capped knives throughout, there is no "C" prefix for alot of them. I thought it was "steel" caps, but I see the "C" prefix on nickel silver caps as well.

How about the C1944W on pg 76, there are no caps at all on this one...

Another mystery for Scooby Doo and the gang...

Right you are. The codes are not real consistant throughout the years 1926-38. Perhaps Mr. Langston knows. Alas, the latest posts indicate that he has no intention of returning as a contributor to the forum. A shame. I would imagine he probably knows the Schrade Cut Co codes frontwards and backwards. Maybe knifeaholic knows. I sure don't. SCC knives are really outside my own knowledge ( and research resources) and I only have the one fixed blade Schrade Cutco in my collection, none of the folders.

Glenn,

Sorry I didn't reply, had to pop out of town right after the post, it's from the Herman Williams collection, Waynorth was killing me at the Jerdan site:grumpy: :D :D :D .. Condition seems to be A+. It's got (and I'm quoting here) marine pearl celluloid handles and is shown on page 419 #2014M of Sargents Guide 2nd edition. It's 3 5/8 closed.

Eric

PS I'll post the details on the tang when it arrives.

Well, that takes the guess work out of it. The number does match the description in the catalog (2014M), where the M is marine pearl celluloid. I was thrown off by no shield on your knife.

Nice piece indeed.
