Hi guys & gals!

The postman brought me, one hour back, a little package from the US. It was sent by medicevans (Brian). Some time ago, he made a GA here on BFC and I had the luck to win a Scout Knife. My very first, US-made Scout knife.
I really like it, it has the typical spirit, that only american traditionals have, paired with the usability SAKs have :) ...

It is a "Kamp King" knife made by Imperial. It´s very well made. No gaps between springs and liners. All the blade have a great snap. The mainblade has a very little blade-play. But I don´t worry about it, it´s just to move it a little.
Brian did a great job on the edge, it´s razor sharp - and I really mean razor sharp. You did a great job there, Brian! On the bail, he added a little lanyard, so the knife is easier to pull out. A great work!
Next to this, Brian added a One-Dollar with a nice folding work. My said, it looks great, and she´s right. I don´t want to put it out of it, because it´s just too well made.

This knife will definitelly get some pocket time! The synthetic scales are all well fitted and the whole knife seems to be robust and well made. The nice natural patina give that knife a real charm.

I really like it :)

Thank you Brian, for the chance and the nice knife - and the One-Dollar :)

Cool!
Congrats on a piece of Americana Andi, thousands of boys have carried them to Scout meetings and campouts, and some still do.

Good on you Brian! This is such a great forum.

Cheers,
Griff

Thanks Griff!

I should still say - I´ve never had a Scout Knife as well as One-Dollar in hands :)

That's a nice GA win.

Those Imperial shell handles...some people look down on them because they were made cheaper. But I tell you, that steel is great stuff, sharpens up well, and cuts like the dickens.

Good score!

Glenn

Andi, I'm glad you like it. One of my very first knives was a Kamp King, made in Ireland by Imperial. Id still like to find one exactly the same vintage, but for now, I carry one very similar to that one I sent you.

As far as the bow tie dollar bill, my dad taught me how to do that when I was probably 7 or so, to keep me quiet while mom was in a store and we were waiting in the car. I have always left them for tips and such when my family goes out to eat. I like foreign money, and since a piece of Americana was going overseas, I thought maybe I'd send a piece of my own personal history with it. An international gesture of goodwill between allies, if you will. :)

Great stuff! Love every bit of these GAW's!
Andi, congrats on that classic Scout knife win...
Medicevans, good on you for such a cool GAW

What a neat knife those Campers are! Glenn hit it bang on about those knives!! Well done to both of you guys!

Thank you guys! I carried the scout knife today, beside my single bladed Otter Wharnie knife. They make a great combination :)

Brian - this one-dollar-bill went into my little metal box, where I use to store all of my small items, which I don´t wanna loose in any way. A great skill you got tought by your dad :)

Glenn - I really like the handle construction. They seem to be a little unique to me. Once I won a GA by Vanguard and a Hammerbrand Barlow was the win. It has the same handle construction. This was the first time I saw something like this. The steel seems great to me. The knife is really razorsharp.

Thank you guys, for your kind words! And Rolf-Dieter is right: The traditional gang really rocks! :D
