So I checked the mail about 8 times today in anticipation for my first CRK Sebenza. The lobby guards probably thought I was crazy so I started sending my girl to check. On my way to get pizza around to corner I spotted a couple UPS guys and asked them where the truck that delivered to my building and they called him up and made sure he was on his way. It's a Sebenza 21 Unique Graphic. Ordered off New Graham. Here are my picks I uploaded to photobucket. It's a beauty. Let me know what you guys think.

Awsome Sebenza, Especially for your first one. Welcome to the CRK Family. Enjoy !

congrats, are you going to carry it?

Probably be a safe queen. I have a lot of great edc knives that I don't care as much about messing up like my Spyderco Paramiltary. Maybe one day I'll break down and carry it.

Woohoo, great looking Sebbie! I didn't wanna EDC my Umnumzaan in the beginning either. One day I figured "why own such a fine crafted cutting tool if I'm not gonna cut anything with it?"
Now the Zaan is in my pocket almost everyday. And I'm thinking of buying a Sebenza as well.

Thanks for the help posting MorimoTom. The blade is smooth coming out but the retention is so great it's impossible to flick out. Adjusting the pivot didn't seem to help. I know about the warranty policy on flicking and I don't plan on flicking it a lot but it would be nice to get it out fast when I need. Is this solved by break in?

As you found out, adjusting the pivot tension on a sebenza doesn't change anything. However, they do loosen up a bit after a short break-in.

when i had my sebbie i was never able to flick it out...i think it was due to the thumbstuds shape...but YMMV

But congrats on your first sebbie:D:D she sure is pretty:thumbup::D:D

my pleasure.

my sebs can both be thumb flicked. the warranty applies to wrist flicking, not thumb flicking. if you snap your wrist and rely on the inertia generated to open the knife, this will void your warranty. if you flick with your thumb, and do not add inertia by snapping your wrist, you are fine.

try a little oil/lube on the bushings, and give it a chance to break in a bit.

the pivot/bushing system is designed to be unadjustable. ie, the pivot screw should be tightened all the way, and will not affect opening.

1. take it apart
2. wipe off any grit from all the parts
3. apply a couple drops of oil or a layer of grease to the washers
4. reassemble, tighten all screws.

if opening is a little stiff at first, just work it in a bit. it will quickly get smoother.

i have found that a combination of grease and a little oil works best.

congrats on a very nice sebenza  enjoy the hell out of it!

CRK wise, nothing in the immediate future. I have a Spyderco Military on order, and my Paramilitary and Benchmade 42 are coming back from repair so those should cool my jets for awhile.

That's funny. I know what it's like waiting for the delivery man. He's been here so much this last year I think I am probably gonna get a DNA test on this last kid. Hell, none of them look like me.

Anyway beautiful knife!

Very cool!
Now you gotta...

A. Use this one
B. Buy another Sebenza you aren't afraid to use.

Once it's in your pocket as an edc it's hard to swap it out!
