Got my first Sebenza late last week, a used Small Classic in S30V with some custom holes in the handle slab. A couple quick pics:

Well I have put off getting a Sebenza for a long time for some foolish reason. Framelocks are my favorate type of lock and I love titanium for handles; so not only is it an amazing knife, it also has all my preferences.
Since I got it late last week I have lightly kicked myself for not getting one earlier. But that got me to thinking that maybe waiting till I got it made me appreciate what a great knife it is more than if I had gotten it earlier. I have been collecting and carrying knives for over 14 years. I have had a variety of styles, sizes, and quality levels. If I had not gone through all these I most likely would not notice or appreciate as much the great features of the Sebenza such as the butter smooth opening, the great blade shape, the great lock-up, or ease of carry of my small Sebenza.
Another thing that I have noticed is that as I continue to carry my Sebenza it is the small details that start to put it ahead of all my other knives for carry and everyday use. When I first got it I must admit it was a bit anticlimatic. I am not sure what it was or what I was expecting but the first day I got it, it was a little like "oh ok got a new knife". Maybe it is the legendary reputation and the way people talk about Sebenzas. Maybe I was waiting for the choir of angels or glowing ray of sunlight. Maybe I was putting unrealistic expectations on the knife. Then I started to realize that part of appeal of the Sebenza is the beauty of its simplicity. Everything you need and nothing you don't.
First the size is perfect for me for EDC, just under 3" blade with a handle that is a perfect fit for my hand not freakishly huge compared to the blade, my major complaint of my Paramilitary. Then it has great blade shape with a premium steel, a nice point but still a decent belly to slice.
Then I love how slim and narrow it is when being carried in the pocket, unobtrusive and sleek when in the pocket but easy to get out. The clip is just amazing to me with the bend in the middle. I can easily start the clip onto my pocket then the middle bend provides the grab, the easiest clip to clip onto the pocket that I have used as opposed to other clips were all the retention is at the tip of the clip.
The simplicity and open design is great. Of course the butter smooth action of the bushing puts it over the top. I never really understood why people said "Sebenza smooth" till now.
Fits in my hand so well:

I am so glad I finally decided to take the plunge and get a Sebenza.
