My first Sebenza will be here tomorrow !!!

I got word from CR knives that they mailed my Sebenza yesterday and it will be to me tomorrow. I can hardly wait. It has been on order a month now. I will come back here tomorrow and tell you how much I like it. You know, the same thing everyone says when they get their first Sebenza.

Remember what I said about the unwrapping. Slowly remove the tissue until you see the blue of the thumb stud.
The feeling is incredible! Then, when fully unwrapped, you will see the most perfectly finished titanium scales you've EVER seen. Open the blade slowly until, CILCK! You'd swear it's the vault door at your bank closing. Then, try to wiggle the blade. NO WAY!! Your new Seb will feel like a one piece knife!
Remember what I said about not letting the big brown truck run over your tounge as you wait.

I tried Will's opening process. Hands trembling. Remove tape from tissue. Still trying to remove tape. %$#@^ tape won't come off. Tear into tape with teeth. Un-wrap tissue. Two miles of tissue later...a glimpse of the most beutiful gray. A glimpse of blue (hands shaking very badly now). And there it is....the "gray turd"!! My first impression was others are jealous that they can't shi"t gray

I've been collecting knives for over 35 years. NOTHING is like a Sebenza. My biggest disappointment in knives of any price was the dreaded "BLADE WIGGLE". It takes every ounce of enjoyment from the purchase of a new knife. Wait'll you try your Seb. I MEAN it when I say it's like a one piece knife when you open the blade! No other knife I own can measure up to the Sebenza. And that edge!! All you need is a little shaving cream, your bathroom mirror and you could throw your Gillette in the trash!

Your FIRST Sebenza, glad to hear that you understand the situation, so you will be ready for that next one....Large or Small Classic, Wood inlay, decorated......Gold Coin maybe?

Just don't forget that it is just a knife, and make use of it, no knife is ever perfect so don't let the hype get to you, it's a knife and you need to take care of it like you would most knives, it's just a very good knife is all

Thanks for all of the info on how I should open it to get the most out of the experence. I know it will be a long afternoon tomorrow so I will more than likely be on here to try to keep my mind off of how long it will be before it gets here. As I said before I will report back on how much I love the knife. So long for now.

UPS just brought the GT auto I ordered. It's 16:20 in Kentucky. You MUST have heard something. Did you faint? Let us know! What were your impressions when you opened the tissue and read the birth certificate? John??

I haven't got it yet!!!! It is 4:00. I am about to go crazy. It was suppose to be on two day air where is it??????
 
It seems like everytime I'm expecting a new blade from UPS they don't show up until like 1900-2000. Drives me nuts.

Well...Either John fainted from delight, or he's too pissed off to answer us. Man! I hope it's the first option! Being that it's friday, and UPS WILL NOT let you go and pick up a package, it's possible that John will have to wait until tuesday for delivery since monday is a holiday. If he didn't receive it today, I think it's safe to say John is in for the longest three days of his life. So, we should cool it on the jokes. What do you think? And John, if you're lurking...try not to worry, you'll be a Sebenzanista soon. Within days in fact, and all this waiting will seem like a bad dream to be put behind you. Take heart, buddy. She's a commin'!
