...is everything and more than I expected.

1) I bought the large classic bocote inlay sebbie (from bf forumite borinquen), and it came NIB with papers and still in its tissue. My absolute first sebbie, and I'm very impressed.

2) I heard all about people having problems with the thumb-lug the first time they tried opening theirs, or the action being tight, etc. NONE of those problems were present. Smooth action, and totally unproblematic.

3) It cut into the cardboard packaging it came in VERY effortlessly. No stops or struggles on any point of the blade.

4) The wood inlay really says CLASS. I'm really glad I went with this design as its really worth every penny. Though technically not a "gents" folder because of the size, it's a really classy piece, which I plan to carry to my important functions.

Took me years to decide on a sebbie, and I'm glad I finally got one. Simple, elegant, and reliable.

Congratulations. Your only problem now will be trying to work out what your next one will be!

hey thanks for the compliments :)
i'm glad you like it,the wood sebbies are really the nicest sebenzas IMO,though it may be awhile before i get my hands on another one thanks to my new H&K addiction ;)

thanks gajinoz and borinquen!

Here's a question:

is it alright for me to store my sebbie in it's sheath? I personally like carrying it in its sheath. Will the leather damage the wood inlay?

The more I carry it, the more I like her.

is it the slip case from CRK? Mine have stretched out in short order. I don't think I would store in the the slip case.

DaveH:

yes, it's the one that came in the box. Is it because of preference that you don't put it in its sheath, or is it because the leather will damage the wood-inlay in the long-run? I prefer carrying it in its sheath, so I hope it won't damage the knife in the long-run.

PiterM:

thanks bro'! gajinoz is right: they're addictive, so I'm eyeing other ones (large woodie, small woodie, and mnandi). Danbo on the exchange forum had a large and small redwood burl inlay for sale. But they're gone now. :(

That's another thing I noticed about woodie-sebbies and mnandi's: they go REALLY FAST on the exchange forums! They're there for 2 days at the most, then GONE.

what happens to me if I store in the slip case, the case will stretch out, and become very loose, I haven't had it damage the wood at all.

yep, they god fast, I wish I had $500 to buy the small redwood danbo put up today. :grumpy:

DaveH:

hey thanks for the reply man! I think I'll keep her in the sheath, until I hear otherwise.

Yep, when I saw those two go, my heart kinda sank. I wasn't going to buy them anytime soon. Was hoping that no one would buy them for, oh, another 3-5 months, then I'd get both of them, muhahahaha!! Hey, I can dream, right???

Congrats on your first Sebbie, and good choice. The wood inlays are beautiful. I have a large regular and a small classsic now, and I carry one or both daily. I am looking at one of the computer graphics ones now.... :D
