i've owned an umnumzaan once and that just wasn't right for me. sure it was nice, but it was too big and seemed a little "too much" for me in aesthetics. one of my very first edc knives (before i knew about the serious stuff) was an s&w extreme ops something knife i bought at a local sporting goods store. it got me through many boxes and envelopes and whatever. i've been searching for the perfect edc (spyderco, benchmade, strider, etc) and i think i've finally found it. last week i traded for a small sebenza 21 and so far i'm so in love with it--but that doesn't mean i'm done buying knives. the size is just perfect and i can retrieve it from my pocket with ease because of the size of it. i reach into my pocket and my thumb is already behind the stud as i pick it out and *snap!* out comes the blade.
and my friends, here is my new small 21 (FINALLY):

here it is alongside my really old (piece of crap) s&w:

Congrats! Give the S&W a nice burial, you'll never need it again.

Just kidding.. :D

Congrats on the Seb. They are definitely in a class by themselves.

RE: The S&W... you may want to reconsider burying her. While she is definitely not in the same class as the Seb, the two of you did make some memories and she seems to have served you as well as she was able. Maybe finding her a spot in a drawer and "retiring" her would be an option?

After spending 55 of my 60 years with knives, I've come to regret "burying" many of the cheaper knives that I carried through some fun times when I couldn't afford anything else and didn't know any better anyway.

Just a thought...

i guess a proper "drawer burial" will be a perfect beginning of an end.
i'm really loving this little knife. i've been neglecting everything else i own, especially the sng. was considering picking up the younger sibling of the sng just to check out competition, but i doubt i will ever pick one up.

cheers to a new beginning!

Congrats on the Sebenza! I recently discovered how nice they are myself, when I went to the CRK booth at the BLADE show for an Umnumzaan... And walked away with a new small Sebbie 21 instead. :D
