I was watching The Hunted (2003) with Tommy Lee Jones, and it was last the part when Benio Del Toro was somehow able to forge a knife while evading capture (hollywood). That got me thinking about making
a very basic knife. I think it would make a fairly decent utility/survival knife, the blade style reminds me of a Becker Camp Knife. I will eventually need a sheath, so if you're a sheath maker give me a quote. I would like a standard, no frills, button snap, leather sheath. However, I will have to make a handle first. Any suggestions on handle materials?
This is the design I wanted
I made it out of a old Condor Golok that I really screwed up when fooling around with. I made the handle way to short, that's what happens when I just wing-it.
The final product, took about an hour total.
Specifications
Handle Length: 4 3/4"
Blade Length: 5"
Thickness: 5mm
OAL: 9 3/4"
Grind: Scandi (it's the easiest)
