Not too exciting by BF standards, but I had a good time with this. I picked up a Ka Bar Zombie Killer War Sword a few months ago because I wanted a big blade and liked the shape and the price. for about 55 bucks, almost 10 inches, a little recurve (I love a little recurve) and some great bonuses. It comes with black and green handles, paracord, a really nice sheath (really, for the money, the sheath is pretty awesome) AND a little 3 inch skeleton handle knife with it's own little pocket in the sheath. I didn't expect that second blade.. So anyway, I finally decided to take a shot at stripping and tiger striping the blade, and until I can get together cash for micarta, one handle of each color, and a lanyard with a hex nut.. nothing fancy, but I have been beating the blade mercilessly, and it has been a whole lot of fun. If I could start over, I would have saved my pennies and gotten a BK9, but that's next on the list. Also, I was thinking I should have convexed the edge before I did the force patina, but I've only convexed axes before, and for now this was fun. So, I asked a friend to take pics and here they are... Not much by your standards, I know, but now I'm hooked, I want to modify everything.... never thought I'd want a good workshop and some nice tools so badly.. Any tips on what I could do better or what tools to buy first would be appreciated..
