Again... I don't "make" them... I "build" them. I wish I had the talent and equipment to actually make knives from scratch, but I must settle for more of an "assembly" process.

I hadn't done a Slip Joint, so I thought I'd put one together for my Dad. I did the scales, inlay and file work.

Comments and criticisms appreciated.

Tim - my Dad would love a knife like that. He is at the age (82!) where he enjoys looking at them more than he does using them. That doesn't diminish his enjoyment, though.

Since commercial references aren't acceptable here, could you give me a good hint or keyword I could Google to get to the kit site you purchased that one from? With Father's still a little far off, I could probably get it done in time.

Thanks - Robert

I found this "Gold Rush Canoe" on "the bay" when I did a search for "Gold Rush Canoe". (Nudge, nudge, wink, wink).;)

Tim - THANKS a million. I will turn this into a "Texas model" using some of my mesquite burl stash. I think I have a place here in town where I can still get a german silver lone star with a circle around it.

He will love it. Thanks again.

Robert
