Hello everyone,

All of my pocket knives up until this point have had back locks, frame locks, and liner locks. Well, recently I snagged this Colonial jackknife on fleaBay and I figured I would share in my first-timer-ness :P. Believe it or not, it looked worse than this when I received it--these pictures are after some oiling, scrubbing, and a bit of sharpening to see how deep into the edge the pitting went. After doing those things, it at least snaps into half-stop and full-open, which it didn't do before.

Thanks for looking!

There is a lot of satisfaction bringin an old knife back to life.. Enjoy

looks like a great knife for carrying, nice job bringing back an old one. Bet it'll sharpen up nicely and can now give you years of service:thumbup:

So true. When I first caught the TL-29 bug, I spent hours with oil, Nev-R-Dull and progressive grits of sandpaper getting rid of some serious pitting on a Camillus. Totally unnecessary on such an inexpensive knife (and which I own several of now), but totally satisfying. It's still one of the most likely knives to find in my pocket on any given day.

Hi,

Welcome to the fun world of slippies! Those old Colonials seem to clean up nicely and go right back to work don't they.
