I'm working on my first socketed spearhead, but I thought I'd share the first spearhead I did with you folks. I was just sitting around, idely doodling, and I drew a spearhead. It was all hooks and curves, and I put it to one side and forgot about it. Somehow though, the drawing ended up in my shop; I looked down and there it was, so I made it.
It's a 15" chisel ground 1095 tanged spearhead, heavily engraved, AOL 24". My intent was to suggest a primitive style spear inset with shark or jaguar teeth. It was done as a lark, but I think it turned out kind'a cool and different.
