Hello BF! this is a really special day!:D

The Purolator truck came by with my Small Classic Micarta Sebenza modded by STR! What a great guy he is!

Theres enough positive reviews out there, so I dont need the chip in.:)

The only negative part I see is that it is not very smooth. Not sure why? feels like a Manix(hard to open).

The pictures are here: (I am not a photographer):p

The choil Steve added is awesome! it allows me to choke up on the blade really well. I like the serrations too! it leaves enough cutting edge.

thanks Jules!

do you think I should use Militec-1 to make it smoother?

thanks Jules!

do you think I should use Militec-1 to make it smoother?

Take it apart, re-clean the inside scales, washers, bushings and inside the holes. Re-lube the washers, both sides, bushings and blade hole, detent ball as well. Make sure it glides well. After it's all back in place tighten all the screws all the way accept the blade screw, just snug it lightly. Open and close the blade a few times working in the lube and aligning the action. Afterwards, open the blade to full, push the lock bar away from the blade and retighten the blade screw. You should notice a large difference. If not, post it and we will try again. Or email me.

best regards,

Congrats! Special knife!
A choil on a Sebenza, I didn't think of that, but it's STR afterall. Great work STR, very smoothly done.

WUBBA-WUBBA--- Very nice and just in time for the New Year! Good ole Steve!! Thanks.

I got one recently that was not smooth, thought i'd clean it up a bit, and discovered I was missing one of the PB washers. Make sure there is a washer on both sides of the blade.

Also, make sure you assemble the knife by putting the handles together first, then sliding in the blade with bushing and washers. This ensures that the washers do not get bound up between the bushing and the handle.

Good luck!

thanks all! and a happy new year!

I will do that schiesz. Personally, I really love the sebenza. just not how stiff it opens.

and I love the choil! it is very comfortable, and it allows 100% control of the blade for small delicate work.

I really like the CRK serrations, they seem to cut(saw) great, and doesnt make the cut look messy.

If you got big hands, and only prefer the Seb because it is more ideal for edc, I suggest you send it in to get a choil, it will make it a lot more comfortable to hold.

Happy new year!

its very smooth now, did the wrong procedure with Militec and assembling.

Hate the stud though

Ok, when I replace the blade after cleaning, the bushing is *EXACTLY* the same size as the blade with a washer on each side, so there is no way for the washers to move at all in relationship to the blade. They have no choice but to stay in place when I slide the blade back into the handle. I had problems before I read that you assemble the handle first, before putting the blade in. Now I never have problems.

Post #2 here shows it well: CRK Sticky

If you are not getting these results, you might need to send it back to CRK.
