Hello all, it's my firs post and first photo on the Spyderco forum.
For two days I am a happy and conscious possessor of first Spyderco - Endura Plain.

Regards.

Great choice there, I just got it's brother the Pacific Salt. It is just like the Endura, but with H-1 steel and a slightly rounder tip. I love that knife though, great ergos and awsome 4" blade. That might be your first Spydie, but it wont be your last.

Thanks, I hope that it is only the beginning of long though pleasant way in the world of knives.

Well Dyno I must inform you that you are in the first stages of "SPYDER ADDICTION". It happened to me about 5 years ago. Like me you will end up having no desire to cure yourself. First it will be your Endura next you will probably end up with one of Spyderco's Hawkbills. Then you will explore their tactical line. Trust me my friend>> It will not end>> but you will posess a happiness and few other humans will ever know:D Welcome to the fold;)

Ok JD, remember that I made this consciously. I attend that to Spderco it is necessary to ripen. I like conservative knives (although Syderco likes to experiment) and I think that in the future the purchasing centre himself on Military. There pleases to me the "philosophy" of this knives. But it is the theme on the longer conversation.

That tomato is going to end up with a lot of relatives meeting the same fate. Cardboard boxes and envelopes will look at you with terrible fear. You will have to drown out their cries for mercy while you slice away with the pleasure of using your Spyderco(s).

Nice knife. You'll be glad you bought a Spyderco.

The Endura was my first Spydie now about 15 years later I have dozens of Spydies. You have been bitten brother hide the credit card.;)

dyno74, you may not believe him, but JD Spydo speaks the truth. I started with the Native several months back thinking I had made a good purchase (which I had) and would need no more:o . Trust me, you will get more;).

Ron

Congrats on your first Spydie! Now you'll have to get a Delica to match that Endura;).

good choice. My first spyderco i just got a couple weeks ago, plain edge endura with the wave. This knife is the heat.

That's a brilliant knife to start with

I got my first decent knife, an Endura plain edge, back in 1992.

Hopefully yours will be the first of many, so i wish you happy hunting. The Native is in the same price range and offers great value, so you can maybe put that on your short list.

Then there's the Calypso Jr and the ParaMilitary that are also held in high regard on these forums. Those two models don't seem to be very big in South Africa as they are not readily available, but I think that a PM has a good chance of finding it's way to me next year :)
