I have to say that I am impressed with this Manix 2 XL!:thumbup::thumbup:
Thought I would share some photos of it here while it's still new.
This knife is perfect right out of the box.
I took some time the last few months looking over the different models. I felt this one would fit me best. I think I made the right choice!

It fits my hand great...nice and solid all the way around. (excuse the dirty fingernails...been working in the shop)

Welcome to the Spyder addiction. It's a curse and blessing. It's very hard to go wrong with a Spyderco. If you're anything like me, you'll have about 10 before the year is over.

Not bad!!! If you start with a Manix 2 XL, i'd be interested to see where this addiction ends!

Ends???? It will actually end??? Thank God!!!
Enjoy that beast......in other words, use it like ya stole it!!

Congratulations on your first Spydie and what an excellent choice! I'm so happy to see a first time Spydie owner research what they want and not just drink the PM2 kool-aid.....

Congrats on your new blade. Make sure she gets pocket time. They sit well in pocket and is a great choice for EDC. But as you can see from the above posts. You have gotten the spydie itch.
Start planning your next one.
Enjoy

Thanks everyone!
I've been carrying this knife and using it quite a bit and really liking it. It fits me well.
Only thing I need to do is adjust the pocket clip a bit, but I usually do that anyway. I like a clip that holds, but don't want to work to clip it in my pocket again.
The S30V is excellent and it has the cleanest edge I've seen.
I'm a believer in the lock system now. This is the first I've used and I really like it.
This knife will get used a lot. It's one of the better purchases I've made in a while.

Hey Stumps,
Glad you like your new blade. It is a beast. I don't own the XL but I talked a buddy of mine, who also has large hands like you, into buying one and it was instantly his favorite knife. He lives on a farm and does a lot of hard work with his knife. It never leaves his side.

The XL was my first Spyderco too, got it in 2012. Awesome work knife, it will serve you well.
I usually don't put deep carry clips on folders, but the XL needs one, rides better in pocket and is good to grip for one handed closing.
