And to no one's surprise, it's the Delica 4. I can't praise this knife enough. I've always wondered what the opening hole felt like, and now I'm in love. The weight is perfect, I love the aesthetics, and I have no doubt it will perform excellently. Sure, the grind at the tip is a bit off and the centering is a hair biased to the right, but it doesn't bother me like it does with other folders. I'd love to say this will be my last knife, but I know I'd just be lying to myself every time I look at the Sage 2. I've been bitten.

I bought all the fancy and more expensive models before I ever got a Delica but when I finally got one it ended up knocking most of them out of my pocket.

Now you just need a Tasman SE and you will probably have all the cutting you need from a folder covered. In very corrosion resistant steels with decent edge retention. :) Very nice choice.

Btw, Delica 4 was my gateway drug into Spydieholism. You have been warned! :D

Congrats!

The Delica has been my primary EDC for quite awhile.

The Native would be a nice pairing and meets your local laws.

Welcome to the hole world. Good choice on your first Spyderco. Great purchase but I will agree that the Sage ll is worth a look. Very different feel from the Delica but a classic Spyderco too. Dress up knife for discreet carry.

That's my next purchase.. My first spyderco came three months ago.. A paramilitary two.. Six spydercos later, I'd say I'm addicted to them. Haven't got one I didn't like yet.

I told you so.

I have this same grey Delica and it stays with me most of the time.

I too just grabbed up my first Delica after jumping right to the higher end spydies.was looking for a discrete people friendly blade for work.got a combo edge my first serration aswell.love they both through a deep carry clip on that sucker and I must say it just disappears in my pocket as I needed to.my company has a no knife policy.shhhh dont tell.there is noway I can go without having a dependable spydie in my pocket.getting back on subject.grabbed up a Karh arms in Denim blue.im so hooked on the delica model. Now I need all color variety in my line up.

The sage 2 is an awesome knife. Then you'll need a pm2 and then a native 5, or a manix. I mean and a manix, then...

I would, but length laws prohibit carry sadly.

The Delica is an excellent first choice, so congrats. Anytime I hear someone new to knives ask what they should get, I typically tell them to get a Delica and an Endura. That way you're pretty much set for the vast majority of utility and emergency defensive purposes.

But as an aside, have you ever heard the term "conscientious objection?" Well, it exists as a feasible option, at least in the U.S. That means YOU decide for yourself what YOU need to carry/own/possess to keep yourself and your family safe. Period. Everyone else can suck it. Just sayin'...

To wit (by the way, that IS an Endura):

It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6!

Same. Delica was my first (2nd choice was gray), also agree w/ the Tasman comment.
