Got to tell ya---I love 'em! Beautiful steel, beautiful blades, feel great in the hand, solid lock up, just great! Feel great in the pocket. I just can't get enough looking at them! I also got the Spyderco Sharpmaker. Now that's a neat system! I really like the way it's set up to use and takes down and stows in its own case. And the instruction booklet is great. And a video! This kit is a bargain! I'm very impressed all the way around.

Congrats on your new toys. I agree that there is a great combination of lightweight but solid construction in these Endura based models. But hey, 960 posts and these are your first Spydies? Oh well, maybe you're just a late bloomer. ;) Enjoy.

A new Civilian is one its way to me as we speak.:) I am now a firm converted believer in Spyderedge serrations. Just a very slight accidental touch on just a tiny portion of the edge of my Matriarch yielded a bloody cut. WOW!! I have full confidence in Spyderco. Awesome knives! Next will be a Police.

I just bought my second matriarch yesterday to go with the 3 civilians I have.... The new matriarch is the one with the Grey FRN handles, very spiffy looking.

Kevan,

Congrats on the fine array of cutlery you are getting together recently.

I am presently carrying #6 of the 300 bladeforums spyderhawk PE in blue handles and put away #7 [ lucky? ]as a rainy day collector.

Being enamored with the Karambit designs this year like others, I have started carrying this blade style over the last few months.

The vg-10 really takes an edge on this knife. It is not sheeple friendly in the least however and I have startled a few with opening it who know I always carry knives with me already.

Stay safe out there.

I, too, have become quite enamored of the Hawkbill knife. I am a new fan of the Spyderedge serrations. The Spyderhawk is indeed a very sheeple unfriendly knife. I just can't get over the amount of quality you get for the price of a Spyderco. These are great knives and very innovative. No one else has something like the Spyderhawk out there at the price of a Spyderhawk with the quality you get with it. I don't know of any big maker out there with something like it. I'm glad Spyderco saw fit to bring this knife out on the market as I am very happy with it. And the Matriarch and Civilian----no one else took a chance and made these fine articles. Thank you Sal Glesser and Spyderco for such outstanding knives!
