I guess I'm more a Benchmade guy than a Spyderco guy. I know the Spydercos are good knives and are legendary for their sharpness. And I'd always heard Mr. Glesser runs a very good company ... but their designs just never reached out and grabbed me.

Until I saw the Cocobola Kopa. That, I said, is a nice-lookin' knife.

So I ordered it and a few other goodies from New Graham. Figured, let's see what these Spydie folk are all about.

The box from New Graham, which always makes me smile, arrived yesterday.

Wow.

While it's considered a gent's folder and has great lines, the Kopa seems built like a little tank. Design, materials and fit & finish are just very impressive. Knife is both beautiful and scary sharp.

Also got a Sharpmaker, and am off work today and putting it through a workout.

All I can say is, the men and women at Spyderco deliver what they promise.

Welcome to the club. :)

You will find that the Sharpmaker works so easily and so well, that you run out of knives to sharpen. In that case, it's OK to ask to sharpen knives for family and friends. :D

Yeah I'm anxious to see a Koupa. I've got several Kiwi's and like them very much. Koupa looks like the next generation.

I got a Kopa with the white handle a few weeks ago.. It wont quit.. Just keeps on cuttin,,, Even my wife like the looks of it... I thought she was going to confiscate it !!!
Good knife hunting

Crap. I didn't even know this knife existed.

Now I'm going to have to have the black micarta version.

Man, I like the looks of that deep carry clip.

I have a few spydies so I generally know what to expect. However, when I handled a kopa at a knife store about a month ago I was floored! Well not that dramatic but almost. It was so well made, even more so than my other spydercos. The bonus was that I really liked the way it looked and also its size.
