my first 'stab' at knife making... again

after bluing the blade tang i drilled 1/4" holes in it and used 1/4" round steel i cut down to 5/8" and hammered them into the tang. i then templated and sawed the red oak slabs by hand and used 3000lbs 2 part epoxy on each side and used the vice to make a good seal. i think the knife is a tank at 1/4" thick at the tang and the slabs being fastened the way they were. the next thing to do is find a stain like the color of my .44 handle and then do a satin spar varnish on it for weather proofing.

Just my 2 cents, Dont use any varnish on the handle. Teak oil, or something else that will soak in is ok, but eventually the varnish will flake off.
