Thanks to Moose and his "stacked leather" thread I got my first Ka-Bar with stacked leather in the mail yesterday. I should have got a stacked leather Ka-Bar a long time ago! The handle is smooth yet grippy, and very comfortable! I got the 1251 and its smaller than I thought it was going to be BUT that is a good thing. I was looking for a smaller knife to bring along when I am carrying my BK7 or BK9. This thing will be attached to my hip as much as possible. I cant wait to see how it starts to look with some use too.

I will take some more/better pictures of it but this is all I got right now...

I will indeed save for the 1217. I will take some detailed pictures when I get it so others can see the size difference. Be expecting a review shortly as well.

Nice knives and nice dog. She a pit?

Congrats on that stacked-leather knife... Get a full-sized one next! :D

Nice! I have yet to get a stacked leather handle knife. Have to get around to it at some point.

L4NE4, congrats on the blade. Stacked leather is where its at. Don't get me wrong, I like synthetics alright, but they don't close to the the feel of leather.

Once the new wears off, and the handle starts soaking up the oils from your hand, they look even BETTER, and I mean that.

Mine turn a dark, dark brown, almost black.

Thanks moose. I modify almost all my knives but this one is going to modify by age only.

Its better that way on those blades. It will take a while for the paint to come off on its own, but once the metal starts that patina, and the handles darken up, sexy in a sheath is what you got.
