I have been becoming more interested in stock-removal knives over the last few years and have been looking for just the right Bob Loveless piece for my collection about the same amount of time. Well this one popped up the other day and I knew it was it.

This is an extremely rare New Orleans Boot Knife which is one of the most hard to find Loveless knives of all. There's not more than 6 of this model in existence. It's about an inch shorter in over all length than the standard Loveless Boot, so it makes a very nice concealed carry knife. It of course came with the traditional Loveless fighter style sheath. The fit/finish is outstanding and the knife is less than six months old.

Here's the spects:

Double- sharp edge 4 1/8" blade
OAL - 8 1/8"
Blade Steel: ATS-34
Guard Steel: 416 Stainless
Handle material: Presentation grade amber Sambar Stag

Please feel free to share all opinions (good/bad) and thank you for your interest.

Kevin you snagged your self a fantastic knife!! Let me be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS!!

so is it his fantastic knives that are so recognizable, or is it the fantastic pictures? :D:D

Great piece, Kevin! One day I know I will own a Loveless chute, but have no idea when.

I don't know a whole lot about those but thats a nice looking one. They are clean and crisp as they come. Nice.

Kevin congrats

At first when I read the title of the thread I thought you started making:D

I forget, Kevin: Did he sign the sheath?

A hearty congrats. :)

neat knife, but how did you come across it? There's gotta be a story there.

your asking for any negative feedback someone might have? its a loveless. I really dont think there is a possibility of that. nice piece!

Really like the looks of that Loveless, Kevin. Cool size, love the blade shape and the handle material looks A number one. Congrats on a great addition to the Jones Collection!

It doesn't get any better then that. What a wonderful addition to your collection. Congratulations!

I can't believe that you went over to the "DARKSIDE" Dang old shiney knives;):D:thumbup:

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

Bob, I was actually looking at chutes but this piece was quite a bit less expensive and considering it's rarity, I believe may be a better investment. Plus it's got the bells & whistles (amber stag, double nudes, double edge blade) I was looking for.

I forget, Kevin: Did he sign the sheath?
A hearty congrats. :)

Coop, the sheath is not signed. The experts tell me that it's "hit or miss" as to which ones Bob signs. I'm kind of indifferent to a signature as it adds $100-$200 to the value (again, per the experts) but with the smaller sheath it may look better without it. The Loveless shop does produce a very good quality and functional sheath for their knives.
Great photo Coop. Very important when buying a knife without the luxury of examining it first.

:D :D :D Yep Chuck, I'm starting to branch out a bit. Starting to like those fancy folders too. But my roots are in the forged knives.

neat knife, but how did you come across it? There's gotta be a story there.
No real story. I've been following the Loveless market pretty close and just jumped on it fast. The best ones don't seem to last long.
