My first strip

Bought a Kershaw Outcast and didn't like the way the finished looked after its first time chopping. Started with 100 grit and worked my way to 600. It still shows machine marks but not too bad.

That came out very nice - well done. How long did you spend on it so far?
 
Total time about two hours. I'm going to stop there other wise it will start looking more like a full on polish than a satin.
 
That looks awesome! I vote you do nothing else to it unless for some reason more sanding becomes necessary like if surface rust comes along or something.

Those are D2 aren't they? Could force a bit of a patina on it if you wanted to go that route.
 
I'll second the sharp comment. They are tool sharp but not knife sharp. If you really want it sharp it should go to a pro. The factory edge needs a lot of work, more than I could handle.
