Ill always remember my first.

Test subject: XHH

I had it pretty easy I think. Citristrip for about an hour, coating came off like a prom dress. I was hoping she had dimples and praying she wasnt DC.

Pretty clean underneath, so Im assuming Its not one of the orig. 400 (hadnt thought so, that kind of provenance sticks w/ a blade Id imagine) Alas, no dimple and thankfully not DCBB...And almost no decarb.

Just a little here, inside the finger choil and a small spot on the spine...got lucky.

After a few hour w/ a scotch-brite pad(s)..You learn quickly to stay w/ the grain..I think I might leave the flats a little grayish, thats where the heavier grind scuffs are anyway..after 3-4 hr called it quits..Looks like a cross between B.I.G. and Comp finish.. ghetto style, so far.

You did a really good job. Knife looks great! I'm trying to get up the courage to strip one of mine. The more strippers I see, the closer I come to doing one myself.

Wow, that looks great, congrats. Yeah, that one is too clean to be from the original batch, not that it matters much anymore.

Thanks fellas..

This one was scary easy to get where it is.. I need to find some polishish cloths or a compound, something w/ a grit between the scotch brite pads (Too abrasive at this point) and Flitz, (not abvasive enough) at this point.

Any recommendations on polishing cloths, compounds?

That looks great!

Looks pro...I was gonna post an "I'll take it" when you had it posted in the wrong thread yesterday, hahahaha

Thank you very much, guys..I cant take much credit, it was so clean under the coating.

I have yet to touch the tail..still "as is" after the initial strip. I did learn, after rinsing w/ water, the decarb rusts...seems easier to remove as rusted..just kept repeating.

Did the citristrip have any negative effect or discoloration on the micarta?

I was initially worried about that...asked and trusted the advice from members on board...Micarta is "Bullet Proof", indeed. Didnt even need to scrub the scales, dries like chalk..and just rinsed well, w/ water...no stains, no fumes.. Citristrip had no negative effect at all,
