I recently finished my first sword. It started out about 2 years ago and have been hanging on a nail starring at me since.....a couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to get it finished. The inspiration to this sword is clearly there....elven sword if any....I designed it after having seen the first lord of the rings movie.....I have a feeling there will be more even though I doubt I will repeat any of them.....
steel is 1/4 RWL-34 handrubbed to 600 grit finish..... the overall is 26.5" and the blade is a hair over 18" from tip to start of grind. ...it is a short hand and a half sword......the longest project ever..alot of first on this one.....biggest damn sheath ever... it took around 25-30 yards of tread to sew this one...yikes...

I sent this to Jim Cooper last week and I must say that guy got some mad skillz with the camera.....look at how well all the bevels are crisp and clean!

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

What's the wood?

Great sword! The blade shape is very appealing. I hope you'll keep making them and maybe bring one to the next SICAC show ;)

A friend of mine, Bay Raitt, worked on The Lord of the Rings down in New Zealand. I was just showing it to him.

He was like "whoa, this is so much cooler than the prop swords the armorer made."

Now he wants Jens to make him a 12" version.

Looks to me like the photographer and the maker have some mad skills :D .

Beautiful work Jens.

Really neat looking sword, great skill, the handle at first looked simple to me, but after looking at it for awhile, I decided that the entire piece is beautiful! Definite sale to any LOTR fan!
