Hi guys...this is my first post here..i thought id share a pic of my first (real?) sword that i made..Its made out of an old (HUGE) L6 sawblade...its 1/4 of an inch thick with point of balance 5inch in front of gaurd..It weighs just under 4 pounds so really is a two handed bruiser...Ive presently disassembled it and sent blade to Bryan Baker (SVORD Knives) for a re-heat treat...i found the edge to be just a little bit soft....any comments good or bad would be appreciated...P.S it is convex edged....FES

It's got an interesting aesthetic to it with those scallops in the line of the spine. Is there a purpose to those other than visual interest? I ask because it seems to me that you could shave weight and shift the balance hiltward if you trimmed that metal and make it a single complex curve.

Looks really good, though.

What's the blade length and the OAL and what's the tang on that sucker look like?

Thanks for the comments...Yeah the scallops on the spine are purely aesthetic..I like recurve lines and the (persian x scimitar?) style of blades..OAL is 32 inches...25inch blade...it is near as damn it to being full tang...it is a very stout blade..heres a few more i made so you can see the (curve addiction)......FES

wow, I am always just amazed at the craftsmanship that regular guys can do... Swords, like women, should have curves! keep up the good work, hope to see many more!
