My first Talonite Knives!!!

I just finished my first two Talonite knives! Working with this is very different from my usuall tool steels!

The Hunter above is 8" OAL with a 3 3/4" blade. The tang is tapered and drilled to reduce weight. I have another, more tactical knife based on the same design on my website.

Really nice knife. I like the profile a lot. How did like working with talonite? I'm kind of interested in it myself.

Fix it right the first time, use Baling Wire !

Neil,

Great looking knife! I really like the stag.

Do you hear that?
That is the sound of inevitability.

Nice looking knife. I went to your website and checked out the tactical also. After I start grinding with my new Bader, I hope to give talonite a try.

Beautiful knife Neil!!! I love the grind line, the way it's curved at the hilt. Is that a flat grind? Take care! Michael

Thanks guys!
I will say this about working with Talonite....it was an enjoyable challenge! It takes some special tooling and I'm glad I have my heavy duty grinders. With the cost involved there's the added stress to not mess up! About like working with damascus.
Finishing knives with no heat treat involved seemed wierd

While I got both knives scarry sharp, I still have to work the bugs out of my sharpening technique, it took a while!
All in all, I had fun working with the Talonite and will be making more knives out of it in the very near future.

EDIT: George, yes the stag is died with Saddle Tan leather dye and polished with a loose wheel.
L6, NO THAT IS NOT A FLAT GRIND!!! ARRRRGH!
That was good! I know you musta read my post in the grind type thread!!!!
