Hello all:

I've posted in threads in this Customer and Handmade Knives Forum, but have never started a thread until now. I've done a lot of lurking here though. I spend most of my time in the Knifemakers Shop threads, since I'm a maker. I just wanted to introduce myself to all of you that frequent this area of Bladeforums. My name is Scott Ickes and I live in Vancouver, WA. I've been making knives off and on for about 19 years now. In the past three years or so, I've gotten a lot more serious about it though. I have a table at the OKCA show in Eugene, Oregon in April. This will be my first show.

I thought I'd post a little hunting knife that I made for that show. Enjoy!

Comments, both good and bad will be appreciated. Thanks for looking!!

I really like it's form, Scott. Very organic looking. I imagine it feels real nice in the hand too. Just one minor issue. Tennessee Whiskey? That knife deserves some good Kentucky bourbon. Maybe some Woodford Reserve or a even Makers Mark. ;)

That is a handsome knife.

Nice work Scott. I agree with Wulf - it has an appealing organing look to it. Well done.

Looks like it would be a great hunter. I'd have to hold it to know for sure, but the handle sure looks like it would be comfortable.

Thanks for the nice replies. I've been reading the posts in this Custom & Handmade threads for quite a while to learn what is important to buyers, collectors and cutlery fans of all kinds. You gentlement have earned my respect, through the way you've unknowingly guided my knowledge of what is desirable in knives. I appreciate your input. Thank you!!
