Well, I have been looking foward to making knives for some time now.

I finally did some grinding, and here are my first three attempts. After heat treating, I will attempt to put some handles on them.

What do ya think?

looks good to me, what are the specs?
what are you thinking about for handles?

They are all made from O1 tool steel.

The first knife will get a Maple burl or purpleheart handle with nickel/silver and mosaic pins.

The second knife is going to receive a Japanese cotton cord wrap.

The third will be blackened and have black G10 handles.

Depending on how you plan on heat treating them you might consider adding more holes in the handles for the mosaic pins you mentioned, espically the last 2.

Those look great! I like the double edged one the best personally. Like Striper said ....f you're going to harden the entire thing you better put some more holes in because drilling hardened steel is a nightmare. Not even worth the effort in my opinion. Edge or entire blade quenching and you will be OK though. Have fun and show us the finished results.

Only #1 will get the mosaic treatment.

#2 is going to be cord wrapped...

#3 will have G10...I want to wait until I receive the fasteners for this knife before I drill any holes.
