nabbed a bit of titanium scrap for a good price and decided to play with it a bit.WEIRD stuff.Really took the bite out of some brand new belts even though it is much softer than steel, bright white sparks! should I wear ray-bans?Hard to polish, kinda smears rather than giving in to the finer grits.
I know it wont have the utility of a steel knife but I intended this one to be a defensive tool against soft skinned assailants(God forbid you should ever have to use it)I colored it with a torch to a nice blue/purple hue,I`ve since gotten some TSP and I`m scrounging the parts for a 28 volt D.C. power souce to do a proper anodization.
Whatcha think?
tips and comments most welcome.

Is there a heat treat process for Ti? Just curious because my cousin works for a company dealing with the stuff and I may ask him to get me a scrap. I think it would make a cool knife. Nice job though :)

Thanks,J.
Powell,I really have no idea,I simply ground it and did my best attempt at a polish and took the bernzomatic to it to give it some color, the local scrap yard gets Ti from the Navy rework facility so there`s some 1/4" pieces there from time to time I dont know the alloy, but it`s probably commercially pure.
